Dan Beckmann-Founder
Dan Beckmann is a New Media entrepreneur and award-winning journalist and founder of IB5k, a civically-minded digital agency born out of Obama's 2008 campaign; Programming Corporation of America (PCA) rebuilding local programming across American; Correlate.io a data analytics platform & Schmooru, a worldwide network of the best creatives in a generation. He also serves as a special advisor to the US Congress on digital media initiatives. During Obama's historic 2008 New Media campaign, Dan worked in the Chicago headquarters, producing supporter-generated and viral initiatives. Dan spent over 4 years at ABC News where helped launch their User-Generated product “Be Seen, Be Heard,” created an internal beat unit to generate original reporting and was credited with coming up with the concept for ABC’s first podcast at ABC News Radio before the word “podcast” existed. He also was part of the production team that won a George Foster Peabody award for the investigation into Congressman Mark Foley. Dan holds a PHD in Media Philosophy from the European Graduate School in Saas-Fee, Switzerland, and a Masters in Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism.
Jason Tongen-Creative Director
Jason is an Emmy nominated independent producer, shooter, editor, and host. From starting as a freelance editor at Current TV he quickly fell in love with all angles of production and went on to create, produce, edit, and host two travel franchises. Since then he has shot and produced numerous television shows for TLC and History while maintaining boautique production outfit in San Francisco for clients large and small.
Tori Taylor-Chief Operating Officer
Tori Taylor has worked in media and production since graduating from Duke University in 2001. She has experience with all aspects of video production, from editing to producing to on air. Tori currently serves as COO of PCA, where she oversees both finances and video production and QA. PCA uses a network model for video production, tapping into talent around the world based on location or skillset; Tori has been working with this roster of professional filmmakers and artists for over a decade. Tori also works closely with our clients and partner institutions through both the video production process as well as finances and invoicing.
